What’s this? You want to know all about little ol’ me? Well, shucks!
I was born and raised in Northern Nevada, living all along Interstate 80 throughout my life. I attended college in Reno, NV at the University of Nevada, Reno from 2009 to 2013 where I obtained two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Information Systems) and a Bachelor of Arts (Spanish).
In the Spring of 2013 I had the opportunity to study abroad with the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC) in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. I had the absolute time of my life as I took 19 credits and traveled throughout the country every single weekend I was there. As I mentioned on my home page, I definitely lost my heart somewhere in Costa Rica and I look forward to making many trips back to try and find it. If you want to read more about my travels in Costa Rica, feel free to have a look at my travel blog.
Currently I’m working with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) as Link Staff serving in Latin America – more specifically in Quito, Ecuador. I am working alongside the Comunidad de Estudiantes Cristianos del Ecuador (CECE) – one of the IFES movements in Latin America. With this job I get to empower local students with the leadership skills necessary to share their faith at school, at home, and in their vocation. To hear more about that, look at my IV Link page.
On top of all of that, since I really enjoy PHP web design I’m always looking for any consulting work I can do in this realm. I am actually a self-taught PHP programmer. I learned many other coding languages while I was obtaining my Information Systems degree, but nothing has been quite as well-fitting for me as PHP, so I stuck with it. I’ve greatly enjoyed learning new things and pushing myself further with each website I create. So, if you’re looking for a web designer, let me know!
On more of a personal note, I was involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, helped lead the LaFe small group with InterVarsity’s Reno chapter, and am a former member of the Gózalo Dance Company. I really enjoy traveling and am finding a lot of new places to travel with the Latin Dancing I’ve gotten into lately – who knew there were salsa festivals in Bulgaria?!
Well, that’s about as summed up as I can be. If you want to know anything I didn’t list here, feel free to contact me! I’d love to hear from you!
