CECE National Camp 2016 Student Testimonies
The first weekend in March, the Comunidad de Estudiantes Cristianos del Ecuador (or CECE), the organization I work with in Ecuador, hosted its National Camp! It’s an annual event that changes location from year to year, but the basic idea is that we invite all of the students involved in our movement from throughout the country to join us for a weekend conference to study God’s word, share our cultures (which vary widely throughout Ecuador), and grow in community.
This year our theme was Isaiah: Vocation, Conflict, and Hope. We spent three days looking at those three various aspects of the book of Isaiah and had our students respond to the texts in various ways through personal devotionals, through expositions, and through small group discussions/creative response. This year our attendance was one of the highest in CECE history with about 75 participants. God moved in some incredible ways, but rather than me telling you, I’ve collected some of our students’ responses and want to share them with you here.
Please be praying for our students as they return to their cities and begin to process and apply all that they have learned. May Jesus continue to transform their lives as they choose to live out the vocation they have found to share the Gospel on their universities and make Christ known in Ecuador!
